Delete it yourself, in the app
-
Open Huddle and sign in
Use the account you want to delete. Deletion applies to the account you are signed in as.
-
Go to Settings › Delete account
Settings is reached from your profile in the app's main navigation.
-
Read what will be removed
Huddle shows you exactly what goes, including whether your household will be deleted along with it or passed to another member.
-
Confirm
The deletion happens straight away. Your account is signed out and cannot be recovered.
Or ask us to do it
If you've lost access to the app or your phone, we'll delete the account for you. Write from the email address on the account so we can be sure it's yours, and tell us it's a deletion request.
privacy@huddlefamily.app
We reply within one month, and usually much sooner. There's no charge.
What is deleted
- Your profile — your name, preferred name, date of birth and photo.
- Your membership of the household, and your access to everything in it.
- Your device settings, including your analytics choice.
- If you are the last member of a household, the household goes with you — its calendar, lists, meals, routines, chores, notices, ledger, milestones and Info Vault, permanently.
- If other people are still in the household, it stays and so does its shared content. You are removed from it, and if you owned it, ownership passes to another member.
What is kept, and for how long
- Subscription and payment records — kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires, typically six years. That period isn't ours to choose.
- Backups — deleted data can persist in a backup for a short time before that backup is cycled out on its normal schedule.
- Anonymous usage statistics, if you agreed to them, are not linked to your account and cannot be traced back to it. They expire on Google Analytics' own retention schedule.
Cancel your subscription separately
Deleting your account does not cancel a Huddle subscription. Subscriptions are held by Google Play, not by us, so they have to be cancelled there or billing continues.
On your phone: Play Store › your profile picture › Payments and subscriptions › Subscriptions › Huddle › Cancel subscription.
Before you go: the Info Vault
Vault entries are encrypted on your device, and we can't read them or export them for you. If there's anything in the vault you want to keep, export it from the app while the vault is unlocked, before you delete the account.
